A shortage of biostatisticians, who are responsible for design and analysis of clinical trials, is a source of considerable concern in Japan. To promote biostatisticians’ human resource development, a biostatisticians training program has been formulated by representatives from industry, government, and academia. This session will review the human resource development of biostatisticians in Japan and introduce this new program as well as the Biometric Society of Japan’s qualification for trial statisticians.
