Networking has become recognized as an essential part of our lives. Networking helps in finding solutions to work issues, in managing one's career, in helping family members, in getting and solving non-work issues. Networking must be approached differently depending on one's personality. As everyone needs to network, we will discuss how introverts approach networking, how extroverts approach networking. A questionnaire will be administered to identify introverts and extroverts. Myths about extroverts and introverts will be discussed. Attendees will break into groups to practice networking approaches and to find what they have in common with their workshop partner.
Learning Objective : Describe how extroverts and introverts should approach networking; Identify the value of networking; Discuss types of questions to ask when networking; Recognize the power of networking.
