Yoshihiro Muragaki, MD, PhD

Dr. Yoshihiro Muragaki is a directer of Faculty of Admanced Techno-Surgery at Tokyo Women's Medical University (TWMU). Dr. Muragaki is a board neurosurgeon specializing in malignant brain tumor, and his reseach fields include clinical trials for gliomas and developments of new therapuetic medical devices including a smart cyber operating theater (SCOT). Dr. Muragaki has also developed combination products for cancer therapy. Dr. Muragaki holds two PhDs in medicine from TWMU and in Biomedical Science from Waseda University, and is also recipient of the Award of 18th Advanced Technology Award in 2004, the Award of Sankangaku Renkeikourousya in 2010, and Good Design Award in 2016.

The mission of RAD-AR Council, Japan is to help patients to choose the best medical care at their own decison based on proper information they need. The council is providing easy-to- understand and summarized information on pescribed drugs called "Kusuri no Shiori" to paients on the Website in cooperation wth 175 pharmaceutical companies. She has 37 years career at Ministry of Health, Lavour and Welfare (MHLW) and Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA). She served as Director of Safety Division, Pharmaceutical and Food Safety Bureau of MHLW from 2010-2013 and Chief Safety Officer of PMDA from 2014-2016.

Masashi Misawa, MD, PhD

Dr. Masashi Misawa is an associate professor at Showa University Northern Yokohama Hospital. His PhD thesis, awarded in 2015, examined the efficacy of magnifying narrow-band imaging for colorectal cancer. He maintains an active research interest in: computer-aided diagnosis; endoscopic imaging and techniques; endocytoscopy. One of his major academic achievements was to bring an artificial intelligence-based diagnostic system called EndoBRAIN into clinical practice by obtaining regulatory approval. Dr. Misawa is a member of Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society, The American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, The Japanese Society of Gastroenterology etc…
