As the recent pandemic has demonstrated, public health and effective healthcare systems should be a cornerstone of a sound national strategy and policy. Several studies show that a healthy population equals a wealthy nation. Face-to-face current and upcoming demographic challenges, increasing prevalence and incidence of several diseases, the governments will have to reconsider their policies in this area and update their healthcare systems.
