Clinical research is changing as we move towards more advanced study designs and continuous evidence generation to better understand how treatments perform over time and to inform more personalized care. This involves collecting novel types of data to generate smarter evidence. It also involves close collaboration and creativity between disparate fields, including software design and data, privacy, clinical, and biostatistics. In this talk, Dr. Abernethy will speak about her experience at the FDA, the role of technology, regulation, policy, and types of analytic methods needed to power new approaches to data.
Learning Objective : At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:- Recognize the changing environment of clinical research and evidence generation
- Discuss approaches to collecting novel types of data for evidence generation
- Explain analytic methods needed to power new approaches to data
