Session 8 Track 3: Best Practices for Capturing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Metrics for MSLs

This session will start with a brief overview aimed at providing participants a basic framework on key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics across the spectrum of Medical Science Liaison (MSL) activities and responsibilities that represent the overall value MSLs bring to customers. Topics include KPIs and metrics related to core aspects of the MSL role, product lifecycle, and MSL program size and longevity. The session will continue through a panelist-led discussion involving questions and participant responses through the DIA App. Panelists will help facilitate and guide the discussion while bridging concepts such as best practices for capturing and communicating KPIs/metrics and aligning MSL KPIs/metrics to medical affairs strategy and objectives.
Learning Objective : At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to:
- Review the variety of KPIs and metrics associated with the MSL role
- Discuss how KPIs and metrics differ based on MSL support across the product lifecycle and on the size and longevity of a MSL program
- Recognize the significance of KPIs and metrics that ladder up to medical affairs strategy
- Discuss how to collate the overall value message for MSLs that can be shared with key stakeholders
