Duane Schulthess is the CEO of Vital Transformation, an economics consultancy in Brussels, Belgium and Washington, DC. He is a member of the U.S. Congressional Health Care Task Force, and the Executive Producer of the Vital Health Podcast, ranked in the top 30 healthcare podcasts by traffic. Previously, he was the EMEA Head of Corporate Development of The Wall Street Journal. Duane has an MBA from KU Leuven's Vlerick Management School. He received a Leverhulme Trust Fellowship to study the French horn at London's Royal Academy of Music, and has a BA Magna Cum Laude from the University of the Pacific where he studied music and managerial economics, graduating Phi Kappa Phi. He is a senior associate of the UK's Royal Society of Medicine.

Luca Pani, MD is Professor of Pharmacology, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy and Professor of Clinical Psychiatry, University of Miami, USA; Chief Scientific Officer for EDRA-LSWR Publishing Company, Italy and Inpeco SA, Switzerland and the VP for Regulatory Strategy and Market Access Innovation at VeraSci in Durham, USA. As former Director General of the Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA, 2011-2016) and member of the CHMP and SAWP Committees for the European Medicines Agency (EMA) in London (2010-2017), he is a recognized expert in regulatory science with particular emphasis on health technology assessment linked with novel negotiation strategies for the reimbursement of precision and innovative medicines such as gene-therapies.
Amr Makady, PharmD, PhD, MSc

Amr is a pharmacist by training, having completed his PharmD degree in Egypt before moving to the Netherlands to pursue his Master’s studies at Utrecht University in the field of pharmaceutical policy. Recently, Amr completed his PhD degree at Utrecht University whereby his thesis focused on the use of Real-World Evidence (RWE) in HTA practice. Amr worked as a pharmacoeconomic assessor and policy advisor at the Dutch National Health Care Institute (ZIN) and was involved in a number of international projects related to RWE generation and use in decision-making, including: IMI-GetReal I/II, IMI-ROADMAP, EUnetHTA JA3 and NEWDIGS. Currenly Amr works as a market access manager at Janssen Pharmaceuticals in the Netherlands.
Julian Raffoul

Dr. Raffoul is an Internal Medicine trained M.D./Ph.D. from Wayne State University who has studied the molecular effects of DNA repair deficiencies on aging and cancer phenotypes, completing a fellowship in molecular therapeutics at the Karmanos Cancer Institute. He also completed an M.B.A. from Auburn University and joined Nashville Biosciences and Vanderbilt University Medical Center as a clinical scientist to lead the clinical design of precision medicine studies.
Brian Rothman

Brian Rothman, MD, is Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Medical Director of Perioperative Informatics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati and completed his residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. He is President-Elect for the Society for Technology in Anesthesia (STA) and serves several other societies. He works to enhance Vanderbilt's EHR, VPIMS, improving perioperative efficiency, communication, and patient safety.
