Objectives
Review Best practices for R&D Due Diligence during business development and how Outcomes Research can better inform the Due Diligence process
Method
The complexity and scope of R&D due diligence in the larger business development process cannot be understated. Innovation in drug discovery, technology and the regulatory landscape continue to pressure diligence teams to seek new tools and resources to inform decisions and address data gaps.
Results
In our work we have leaned heavily on real world evidence detailing prescription trends, re-imbursement status and cost to efficacy ratios to inform business development decisions. These data present not only informative insights to identify targets that have the potential to address unmet medical need, they also inform commercial strategy and long range business development planning. We will present best practices and case study examples for how to integrate outcomes research into the tool kit due diligence project managers deploy during business development projects.
Conclusion
Harnessing the power of outcomes research has the potential to inform not just R&D due diligence, but also cross-functional business development decisions and broader commercial strategy. In the ultra-competitive business development landscape, adding a new tool can help your team dig deeper to find opportunities and assets that are strategic fit with your organization and uncover potential hidden value in opportunities overlooked by others.
