Meet Our Confirmed Speaker from ANVISA
Antonio Barra Torres, Assessor, President Director
Mr. Barra, President-Director of Anvisa, graduated in Medicine in 1986 and had his residency in Vascular and Endovascular surgery done at Marcílio Dias Naval Hospital (HNMD) in Rio de Janeiro. He also concluded an MBA in Health Services Administration at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, in 2012. In 1987 joined Brazilian Navy as medical officer, achieving the rank of Rear Admiral in the Medical Corps in 2015. Retired from Navy in February of 2019, was nominated as Director of Anvisa, after a unanimous Senate Social Committee approval. In January of 2020 was indicated as President-Director of Anvisa, beginning his tenure in November 2020.
Liana Kusano Fonseca, MHS, Manager, Office of Inspections and Law Enforcement for Drug Products and APIs
Master in Medical Sciences from University of Brasilia, Specialist in Sanitary Regulation and Surveillance from Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, leader inspector of medicines since 2012 and Manager of Office of Inspections and Law Enforcement for Drug Products and APIs at Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (Anvisa).
