Sudip Parikh serves as Senior Vice President and Managing Director for DIA Americas. Prior to joining DIA, Dr. Parikh served as Vice President and General Manager of Health & Consumer Solutions at Battelle. He led Battelle’s Healthcare Improvement, Public Health Research, and Consumer, Industrial, and Medical Technology Development teams. These multidisciplinary teams of scientific, technical, and business development professionals performed research and development activities supported by a wide range of government and commercial clients.
Previously, Dr. Parikh was Vice President of AgriFood and led Battelle’s global AgriFood business, which provides research and development services to the AgriFood Industry from laboratories in the United States and Europe.
Dr. Parikh is an active Board member of several health and science policy organizations, including Research America; the Friends of Cancer Research; and the Food Innovation Center.
Prior to Battelle, Dr. Parikh served as Science Advisor and Professional Staff to the United States Senate Appropriations Committee where he was responsible for negotiating the budgets for the National Institutes of Health, Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, BARDA and other agencies. In that role, he was a senior liaison to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, universities, research centers and hospitals.
Early in his career, Dr. Parikh was a Presidential Management Fellow at the National Institutes of Health. He was awarded a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship while earning his Ph.D. in Macromolecular Structure and Chemistry from The Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, CA. He earned his B.S. in Materials Applied Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
